A building map of all Australia and Oceania

We completed a comprehensive, high-precision vector map of every building across the continent of Australia and Oceania — a monumental dataset spanning more than 8 million square kilometres and all 14 countries of the region, from the dense centres of Australia and New Zealand to remote island communities across the Pacific.

What's in it

The vector dataset captures detailed building footprints with precise geographic positioning — a complete, consistent record of the built environment where coverage was previously fragmentary.

What it enables

  • Disaster management — emergency-response planning and damage assessment for bushfires, cyclones and floods.
  • Urban planning — sustainable development and infrastructure projects backed by complete building-stock data.
  • Population estimation — better demographic modelling and resource allocation across both cities and remote areas.

Building data at this completeness becomes shared infrastructure — one authoritative layer that planning, insurance, logistics and emergency services can all build on.
